1) T2 BPO's just for billions of ISK. 0.0 Rats you can make anywhere from .5Mill to 3 Mill per spawn, and up. So a month of Ratting should make you a billion easily. If nor more. This will vary with your play time. I've seen some T2BPO's go for as little as 2.5 Bil. Hell, get a few friends together, and 3-4 weekends of corp ratting, and the corp will be able to buy them.
2) this is a myth. It's not that they arn't accepting new players, it's that they are picky about the ones they DO choose. Most want people that can demonstratet htat they have something to offer.
If you have 5 mill sp, and want to join, they'll refuse you. You need to prove to them that you can PvP or bring good manufactureing skills, or good mining skills, or good leadership skills...
3) if you think the 0.0 map is "fixed and stable" you sure as hell haven't been keeping up. we just had one of the larger alliance's get their regions ground into paste. Though from what I hear, payback is going to be a REAL *****. (GO NORAD WOOO)
3a) I also know that not all 0.0 is claimed. I'm in a small corp of like 12 people(though we're growing) and we have a POS in a nice region of space. We have alliance's all around us, and pirates all around us, so there is lots of fun stuff to do :)
4) This is another myth. The devs stated a few months back that the average age is only 7months. That's not that much.
5) this is your mistake. You are guageing your success on that of others. Are you haveing fun? is your charactor advanceing? Are you building ties with corps/alliance's? Are you gaining access to bigger/better ships? Are you haveing fun?
You need to stop compareing your self to others and just enjoy the game, make friends, and have fun. When going up against others who have twice the sp of you, bring a friend.
